UK based producer and visual artist Bon-Psy has been quietly building a reputation for creating future electronic beats that bridge the gap between melodic and experimental music. Infused with wonky rhythms and grooves, Bon-Psy’s music is influenced by a variety of genres and artists including Jazz, ambient and glitch.

He already counts an established crew of heavyweight supporters across radio and press including Jaguar and Sian Eleri (BBC Radio 1), BBC 6Music, BBC Introducing, Wonderland, Fame Mag, and ThisSongIsSick to name a few.

Having signed up with Asta Hiroki’s Folded Music he is now embarking on the most ambitious, conceptual project of his career yet - a trio of EPs depicting the balance and interaction between order and chaos. Alongside the project he has created a triptych that will serve as each EP’s cover art.

The first piece to be revealed from the project is ‘Order’ the title track from the first EP, and it’s a beautiful ambient composition that blends emotive piano lines with vocal samples, field recordings, intelligent sound design and bass.

Representing the experience of peace and tranquility that can be felt when living through a phase of complete order. It’s almost meditative in nature, cinematic, and contains much more movement than your typical beatless composition -showcasing the producer’s knack for musicality and arrangement even when operating outside his usual comfort zone.

Bon-Psy explains the inspiration behind the track further:

“To me it felt like the musical embodiment of that feeling of relief after a particularly stressful situation is over and the world around you retracts its claws for a few minutes to let you recover. In my own life, I think about the times when I’ve had these situations. Leading up to them, my mind would be in complete chaos thinking about the whole scenario. I likened this to walking on a tightrope above the Grand Canyon whilst life throws rocks at me, trying to knock me off my balance. But, having kept my footing and successfully negotiating it, I would be filled with a wonderful sense of relief. This song is that moment encapsulated, it’s the brief time afterwards where the chaos has subsided for a little while and everything is back in its right place.”
